Job Overview:

As the Head of Communications, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive communication strategies that enhance our organization’s visibility, reputation, and engagement. The Head of Communications is responsible for identifying, proposing, and managing the right mix of internal and external resources for each project to achieve its communication objectives on time, within scope, and within budget. You will build and lead a team of communication professionals, fostering a collaborative environment to ensure the delivery of consistent and impactful messages across all platforms.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute a holistic communication strategy aligned with SIS’s mission and goals.

  • Oversee the creation of communication plans for all programs

  • Ensure messaging consistency across all communication channels.

Team Leadership

  • Build and lead a high-performing communications team.

  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for team members.

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.

Budget planning and management

  • Propose communications budgets for projects.

  • Monitor project costs to ensure they stay within the allocated budget.

Content Creation and Management

  • Oversee the development of engaging content for various platforms, including social media, websites, newsletters, and blogs.

  • Ensure all content aligns with SIS’s brand voice and strategic objectives.

Social Media Management

  • Develop and implement social media strategies to enhance engagement and reach.

  • Monitor social media trends and analytics to inform strategy adjustments.

  • Oversee the creation and scheduling of social media content.

Internal Communications

  • Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep team members informed and engaged.

  • Foster open and transparent communication within the organization.

Performance Tracking and Reporting

  • Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies.

  • Regularly report on communication activities and outcomes to senior management.

  • Adjust strategies based on performance data and feedback.

Requirements

  • Experience in team projects that involved coordinating and/or aligning with multiple partners, collaborators, or team members.

  • Above-average knowledge of interpreting website traffic data and data resulting from social media campaigns.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset - you are interested in results as much as execution and proactively seek improvement solutions.

  • Mandatory: previous experience in managing people and building teams

  • Experience in building and managing teams 

  • Experience in budget management ideally over 100k EUR

  • To understand and be interested in the domains in which SIS operates - the future, sustainability, and entrepreneurial education.

  • To have a strategic mindset, to think in terms of objectives, to know how to define them, and to take accountability for them.

  • To understand from the ground up, you need to coordinate (alternatively, know where to find answers or what professionals are needed). Each project has a unique combination of internal and external resources (different agencies)

  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in digital communications.
